All students will report to the Spruce Creek Band Room by 6PM. 12-03-2008 Christmas Trees are Coming! Christmas Tree Pick up on Friday after school until 7:00 PM!! 12-03-2008 Port Orange Christmas Parade Creekside Band will be rehearsing for the Port Orange Chrismas Parade on Friday from 4-5:30 PM. The parade is on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM, we will be staging at Jackson St. behind Ross. Students should be there ready to go at 1:00 PM. 11-11-2008 CONGRATULATIONS, to our All State Laureates!!! Congratulations to Doug Spencer, Trombone, Sarah Farmwald, Clarinet, Sarah Volpe, Bassoon, & Zachary Collins, Trumpet on their selection to the Florida All State Band. The four band members will be performing at the Florida Music Educator's Association Clinic-Conference in January. 11-05-2008 All County Audition Times for November 12, 2008 All County audition times are posted on the INFO SHEET link to your left. Info Sheets with the times have also been sent home with each auditioning student. 11-03-2008 Middle School Night Rehearsal and Performance 7th and 8th grade members of Band 2 & 3 will be rehearsing this evening at Spruce Creek High School from 6 to 7:15 PM with the Spruce Creek High Steppin' Hawks. Students should plan on being at Spruce Creek High ready to go between 5:30 PM and 5:45 PM. On Thursday, November 6, we wll be performing the pre-game show with SCHS Band. Students will play with the band in the stands throughout the game and will watch the Hawks perform their 2008 Halftime show featuring the music of Earth, Wind, and Fire. Students may be picked up after halftime in the CONCESSION AREA following the halftime show. If you haven't already, please turn in your permission slips for Thursdays' performance. Info sheets and permission slips are available for download from the INFO SHEETS link on the LEFT side of your screen. 10-20-2008 Symphonic Band Performance The Symhponic Band will be performing with Chorus and Dance on Thursday, October 23 at 7:00 PM. We will be performing in the Creekside Middle School Auditorium. Students should be in the bandroom ready to play by 6:30 PM. 10-01-2008 Dinkles (Band Shoes) FINAL SHOE SIZING!! If you would like to order Dinkles Band shoes we will have ONE LAST SIZING before we order them. This will be on Thursday, October 9th, during PAWS. If your child needs to be sized, have them get a PAWS pass from Mr. Guthrie for that day. The TRI-M induction will take place on Tuesday, May 20. 04-28-2008 Concert for Incoming 5th Graders The Creekside Symphonic Band (Per 6) will be performing for incoming 5th graders during 1st and 2nd periods on Tuesday, April 29th. April-14-2008 FBA Music Performance Assessment The Creekside Symphonic Band (Per 6) will be performing for the FBA Music Performance Assessment on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. We will be leaving Creelside at 6:00 PM, all students should be at Creekside ready to leave at 5:30 PM. Feb-25-2008 Symphonic Band Rehearsal (Period 6) The Creekside Symphonic Band will be rehearsing on March 14 from 4-7 PM in the Creekside Band Room. This rehearsal will help us prepare for our upcoming FBA State Assessment on April 17, 2008. The students will be fed following the rehearsal. 02-20-2008 Solo and Ensemble Festival The FBA Solo & Ensemble Festival is this Friday & Saturday, February 22 & 23, 2008 at Deltona MS. If you have any questions please let me know. 02-05-2008 Sousa Concert at the News Journal Center The Stetson University Symphonic Band will be performing on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the News Journal Center in Daytona Beach. The concert will be in the style of a "Sousa Concert" just as John Philip himself would have done it. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM and all members should be there ready to play by 6:00 PM. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Guthrie. 01-15-2008 United States Air Force Band The Air Force Reserve Band from Robbins AFB in Georgia will be in concert at Peabody Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free, but you will need to call and reserve tickets. IMPORTANT - The band members will be offering master classes to band students (middle and high school) at 10:00 a.m. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you are interested in attending, please let Mr. Guthrie know by January 22nd. 01-15-2008 The United States Coast Guard Band The United States Coast Guard Band from New London, CT will be_performing a concert at the Winter Springs High School auditorium on_Jan. 30th, 2008 at 7pm. All are invited and encouraged to attend._ Admission is free, but you must get a ticket. Please, the Coast Guard asks that you only request tickets for_those you feel will actually attend the concert. The program includes:_The Glory of the Yankee Navy (Sousa), Overture to Flying Dutchman_(Wagner), Perthshire Majesty (Hazo), Morceau de Concert (Saint-Saens),_The Gladiator (Sousa), and Southern Harmony (Grantham). Volusia All County Band Members will be heading to Deland HS for rehearsal on Thursday from 6-9 PM. We will be returning to Creekside between 9:30 and 9:45 PM. 01-07-2008 All County Band Rehearsals The Volusia All County Band will rehearse on January 8th, 17th, 24th and 25th. We will be taking busses to Deland HS on the 8th and the 17th, we will be feeding the students before we leave. The rehearsals on the 24th and 25th, will be at Creekside, please consult the calendar for more specifics. WE WILL BE RETURNING FROM THE 8th AND 17th REHEARSALS BETWEEN 9:30 and 9:45 PM. 12-17-2007 Concert Tonight!!!!! The Creekside Band Concert will be held this evening at the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange at 7:00 PM. Students should report between 6:15 PM and 6:30 PM. Symphonic Band will be wearing their dress blacks, everyone else will be wearing their Green Polos and BLACK pants. The church is located at 305 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL 32127. 12-06-2007 Creekside Band Lock In The Creekside Band Lock In is fast approaching. Friday, December 14 seems like a great day to unload your children for a night, and what better place than the Creekside Band Room to do it. All attendees must have ALL band fees paid, including the band fee and any instrument rental fees. All attendees must also collect $35 in pledges to the Creekside Band. Pledge forms are available on the "FUNDRAISER" link on the website. 12-05-2007 Christmas Tree Delivery Christmas Trees, Wreaths and Centerpieces will be delivered to Creekside Middle School on Friday, December 7, between 4:00 and 7:00 PM. 12-3-2007 Winter Concert The Creekside Middle School Band Winter Concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Port Orange on December 17 at 7:00 PM. The rehearsal will last from 6 to 7 PM. 10-23-2007 Symphonic Band Rehearsal There will be a Symphonic Band (Period 6) Rehearsal on November 2. This is a change from the original calendar date. This is great opportunity for students to have their audition materials evaluated before the actual audition.
